In Gestalt therapy or psychotherapy the primary goal is to help you gain awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in the present moment. It encourages you to understand how past experiences influence your current perceptions. Through a safe, solid and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, I will encourage you towards self-acceptance, self-discovery and personal growth.
Together we will focus on the here-and-now, will use dialogue, imagery, experiments and somatic awareness to help you connect with your feelings, perceptions and core beliefs and live a more fulfilling life.
Gestalt therapy addresses how we organise experience and make meaning. And how we behave according to these. We are all intertwined with our human and non-human surroundings where the totality of our experiences emerges from. This is why the most effective path to change is not to strive to become different, but to fully accept oneself as one already is (See also Paradoxical Theory of Change)
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, and allow the emergence of ways to helping you. We'll look at your emotions, sensations, beliefs, memories and how they are all interconnected. During treatment, I'll help you gain more awareness about how you organise your experience and make adjustments to reach your goals.
