Couples and groups provide an excellent space to focus on the here and now, enhance self-awareness, facilitate dialogues, explore body sensations (for example by utilising grounding techniques), use experiments such as role-play, integrate past and present, promote healthy communication, all in a safe, controlled and non-judgmental environment.
I have training in Relationship and Couples Therapy and experience working successfully with couples. My approach is an eclectic mix of Gottman's method, Experiential, Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT), Systemic Therapy and Discernment Model, tailored to fit my clients' needs.
I have also been trained in experiential group therapy during my Gestalt course and facilitated diverse groups such as sexual assault survivors and veterans in the last three years. I currently accept small groups (maximum six individuals) to explore themes such as connection, attachment, protective mechanisms, how we deal with excitement and disappointment, our fears, hopes, emotions, issues with authority etc., and expect that within the group setting, individuals will experience connection, learning and growth, all in a safe and confidential space.
